Let The Games Begin!

Make sure you get a nice spot on your sofa and have some popcorn ready. When 275 members of the Iraqi Parliament meet inside the same building, you just dont know what to expect. The 1st time, all they did was argue, argue, and then argue a bit more, then adjourn the session "untill further notice".

This time they will be trying to inch towards the formation of a government by appointing a speaker for the parliament (along with 2 deputies) and maybe even the Presidential council.

The Speaker of Parliament might be Adnan Al Dulaimi...his 2 deputies are likely to be Shiekh Khalid al-Atiya (Shia) and Tayfour al-Naeb (Kurd), one of the Vice-President seats might go to Iyad Allawi (secular Shia) and Ja'afry is not willing to budge, insisting he was the democracically elected nominee for the PM post.

We might not even have a session, becase the UIA have threatened to boycott unless some key posts (speaker and Presidential Council) are agreed on by all parties. If it does go ahead, I reckon this will be a repeat of the first session, 30 minutes of arguing followed by a "this session will be adjourned untill further notice" statement by either Adnan Al Pachachi (acting speaker) or Adnan Al Dulaimi (if hes chosen as speaker). So expect this session to last forever, or finish very quickly.

Meanwhile, more and more Iraqi's will be killed on streets of Baghdad...As usual.
