Saddam Execution Video

If you think you can stomach the actual footage of Saddam's execution you can watch it on this link. You can either open it or save it to your PC.

As they are putting the rope on his neck, he says "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger". After the rope is in place, the Iraqi's send blessings on Prophet Mohammed and his family, and one of the Sadrists shouts "Moqtada, Moqtada, Moqtada" (its a Sadrist thing). Saddam smiles and says something you cant clearly hear because one of Iraqi's shouts back "go to hell". You can hear Saddam say "shame on you" just before someone says "Long Live Mohammed Baqer Al Sadr" and another says "go to hell" again. There is another voice which we hear for the first time repeatedly shouting "please...please", its most likely an Iraqi official asking everyone to keep quiet. Saddam then repeats the words "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger". He says it one more time before he drops but doesnt get time to finish his sentence..."There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed..." *trap door opens and he falls*. Immeiately after his neck snaps, people send blessings on Prophet Mohamemd and his family (without the 'Moqtada' dramatics this time) and shout "May Allah curse you" and "the dictator has fallen". Then amid the darkness, someone takes a picture and you can clearly see Saddam still hanging from the rope.

Eye Raki,

Your reaction [as an Iraqi] is interesting to me because the Iraqi blogs I’ve been reading are angry about Saddam’s execution. Anyway, I find your blog interesting and wish you well in the coming New Year.

Damn right it was revenge. Revenge for over 3 decades of seeing nothing from Saddam but bloodshed.

He had this coming. He can now rot in his grave.

Alhamdulilah ya Rab! The only downsides are that this punishment was way too mericful for the tyrant and it was long overdue. In any case, like was said in the video, "Illa Jahanem!" InshAllah all his supporters/sympathizers will meet the same fate.

Sympathy for Saddam is disgusting, Sympathy for what? A couple of harmless scuds that hit haifa and TelAviv, that was clearly a publicity stunt and in no way a true and islamic effort to put a halt to Israel's attrocities!

Or is it for the great good that Saddam has brought his people and the arab and muslim world? He destroyed Iraq, and invited the Americans into the middle east, he gave them a blank check to step all over us.

He divided us, through sectarian killings. Shi3as hold a grudge against Sunnis in Iraq, whom they see as pawns of Saddam, complicit in the murder of their people, and Kurds hate all Arabs, specifically Iraqi arabs for the same reasons, and the Sunnis continue to hold the suspisions Saddam instilled in them during his 3 decade rule.

The killing was a bad timing, as much as I understand the Shi3as and Kurds (and some sunnis) would have liked to celebrate 2 eids in one, in the end of the day it will make him a martyr in the eye's of the masses, and will create more sectarian devisions.

Interistingly enough, while on vacation in Saudi Arabia, the last friday Khutbah was about Saddam Hussien. The shiekh said something i agree with 100%, something like this "We remember the Saddam who used to purge the Ulama, and his fate is the fate of the Thalim, his recent show of repent or innocence is irrelevant 'Al Qatil Uqtal Olaou Ba3da Heen' " And no one can dare deny he is a qatil.

Lastly, his trial was most likely unfair in my opinion, now saddam DOES NOT deserve a fair trial to be honest, and even in a fair trial he would have met the same fate, however what is important is that the trial be fair not for saddam, but for iraq, so that they proove to the world todays iraq is a modern and cultured society. But then again, under occupation a fair trial is not possible, im sure they did the best they could.
